About Makshi :

Shri Dig. Jain Atishaya Kshetra Maksi is an ancient place of pilgrimage. There are two temples here. First is big temple called as Bara Mandir, in which the principal deity are Lord Parsvanath, this is supposed to be more than 2500 Years old. According to archaeologists this temple is approximately 1000 Years old, built in the period of Parmars. Second is near the first temple with principal deity Lord Suparsvanath (The 7th Teerthankar), this was installed in V.S. 1899.
42 idols installed by Jeevraj Papariwal in V.S. 1548 are also here.
Both the temples are very beautiful existing in one premise.
 
Atishaya (Miracle) : So many events of wonders are popular here about Maksi as rumors. It is said that an invader when came here to destroy, fall ill severely, at the end he bowed his head against the principal deity and he went from there after constructing five pinnacles on the main gate of temple. Thieves & dacoits became blind here. One inscription is also here which prohibits to any one for theft.
So many pilgrims come here every year for fulfillment of their desires. For Malwa & Bundel-khand, it is the tradition to give up hair first time in childhood here.

Main Temple & Idol :

At this place, there are two temples – Big Temple & Small Temple. In Big Temple, there is an idol of principal deity Lord Parsvanath in Black Stone with height 3.5 feet, very attractive.
In Small Temple, there is a miraculous idol of Lord Suparsvanath installed in Year 1842.

Temple Timings : 
At Bara Mandir (Big Temple) time for Digambars is 6 AM to 9 AM, After this time
Shwetambars are allowed whole the day.
Small Temple is Totally for Digambars.
Annual Gatherings Annual festival organized on the days Chaitra Krishna 4 & 5.
Facilities : 

Shri Dig. Jain Mandir Dharmshala contains 13 Normal Rooms, 1 Luxury Room.
Shri Mahaveer Bhawan contains 3 Normal Rooms, 2 Luxury Rooms.
Mess facility and Items like utensils, bed, tent etc. are available at both the places.

Means of approach :
By Road, Busses are available from Indore, Ujjain, Devas, Shajapur to Maksi.
From Maksi Bus Stand, Tempo, Rickshaw or Tongas are available to reach the Atishaya Kshetra.
By Train – Maksi is railway station linked to Ratlam-Bhopal, Maksi-Guna & Maksi-Indore lines.
